Happy Birthday David!!!

A few months ago David and I were in his office at UVU when Gerard told us about the awesome deal on some U2 tickets in Las Vegas.  David is a huge U2 fan and has never been to a concert.  After finding out that the concert was the same night as his birthday we had no choice but to plan the trip.
It was a wonderful adventure.  We drove down Friday afternoon and checked into our hotel on Fremont street and went to fulfil the Marcum tradition of shrimp cocktails at Fog City Diner.

After walking around it was time to head to the stadium. Knowing nothing about UNLV it was good that we left an extra half hour earlier then we thought it would take.  We drove to the campus and we were astonished by the lack of traffic.  As we pull up to the campus we stop at a map to locate the staduim and decide where the best place was to park the car.  As we scan the map we come to realize that the UNLV stadium is miles away! We were at the wrong place. It suddenly became clear as to why there was not any traffic.

We jumped back in the car and headed in the right direction.  For the next half hour (or longer) we were bumper to bumper with other cars that were all heading to see U2.  It gave us something to remember thats for sure!
Parking was a nightmare but we got an end spot right next to an exit and the show was aswesome! The stage was indiscribable and the 360 video screen was the ultimate in technology!  The music was great and the best part was watching how happy David was.
That and the garlic fries that I had for dinner. SO GOOD!

After the show we were exhausted! It had been a wonderful day but we were beat! We slept in the next day and then spent the day finishing David's BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION with a day on the strip. We have many favorite places to eat in Vegas but we decided to venture out and try something new... Margaretville .
I don't know about you but there are very few things that scream celebration louder then Margaretville!  It was so much fun we had an awesome table and the worst waiter in the world.  While we were waiting for our table the manager gave us business card that was good for a complimentary piece of chocolate cake! The waiter had to spend ten minutes figuring out what we had done to deserve this "prize" before he would bring us our cake! It gave us some entertainment with our dinner.

Did I mention that we got to eat at this cool boat?  while the Cheeseburger was not what I would call Paradise it was a great memory!
It was a great weekend and the weather was paradise!  Thanks Gerard for letting us know about the tickets!
