Happy Thanksgiving

I LOVE the holiday season! It is a wonderful mix of chaos and cheer.  This year started off better then anyone could ask for, my parents came to Orem for a few days to celebrate with David and me.  They agreed to stay with us at our apartment and it is so wonderful to have them here!
We started off by going to Tucano's for lunch and then to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert! If you don't know who they are you are missing out!!  Check out this video!
It was my 3rd year in a row to see this show with my Dad and they did not dissapoint!  Every year I want to immediatly go and buy a violion or an electric guitar!!  Yet I settle for a round of guitar hero!! Ya!
What could make this day better you ask?  We already had my parents here visiting, lunch at Tucanos, and one of the greatest musical and entertainment displays alive...  wait for it... dinner at IN N OUT!  It has been here only one week and this was my 3rd trip there!
Today for thanksgiving I worked a few hours in the morning and then we all went to Wal Mart for last minute essentials and down to Cracker Barell to pick up out Thanksgiving feast.  There is no better way to do Thanksgiving dinner then to order it in from the best "home cooking"

Happy Birthday David!!!

A few months ago David and I were in his office at UVU when Gerard told us about the awesome deal on some U2 tickets in Las Vegas.  David is a huge U2 fan and has never been to a concert.  After finding out that the concert was the same night as his birthday we had no choice but to plan the trip.
It was a wonderful adventure.  We drove down Friday afternoon and checked into our hotel on Fremont street and went to fulfil the Marcum tradition of shrimp cocktails at Fog City Diner.

After walking around it was time to head to the stadium. Knowing nothing about UNLV it was good that we left an extra half hour earlier then we thought it would take.  We drove to the campus and we were astonished by the lack of traffic.  As we pull up to the campus we stop at a map to locate the staduim and decide where the best place was to park the car.  As we scan the map we come to realize that the UNLV stadium is miles away! We were at the wrong place. It suddenly became clear as to why there was not any traffic.

We jumped back in the car and headed in the right direction.  For the next half hour (or longer) we were bumper to bumper with other cars that were all heading to see U2.  It gave us something to remember thats for sure!
Parking was a nightmare but we got an end spot right next to an exit and the show was aswesome! The stage was indiscribable and the 360 video screen was the ultimate in technology!  The music was great and the best part was watching how happy David was.
That and the garlic fries that I had for dinner. SO GOOD!

After the show we were exhausted! It had been a wonderful day but we were beat! We slept in the next day and then spent the day finishing David's BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION with a day on the strip. We have many favorite places to eat in Vegas but we decided to venture out and try something new... Margaretville .
I don't know about you but there are very few things that scream celebration louder then Margaretville!  It was so much fun we had an awesome table and the worst waiter in the world.  While we were waiting for our table the manager gave us business card that was good for a complimentary piece of chocolate cake! The waiter had to spend ten minutes figuring out what we had done to deserve this "prize" before he would bring us our cake! It gave us some entertainment with our dinner.

Did I mention that we got to eat at this cool boat?  while the Cheeseburger was not what I would call Paradise it was a great memory!
It was a great weekend and the weather was paradise!  Thanks Gerard for letting us know about the tickets!

California Dreaming

We had a wonderful weekend in the Bay Area! Fall break couldn't have been better. We had In-N-Out for lunch shortly after landing and then we went to Morgan Hill to meet up with the rest of the family. It was great to see everyone, even the ones that had the flu. Every moment was great but here are my top 5 favorite moments (Not in any order)

1. Making Jolynn laugh so hard when she is driving that her eyes water and she can't see.

2. Spending the evening with McKenna in Santa Cruz! Even if the beach was covered in heaps of kelp... and the boardwalk was closed!

3. Traveling around China Town hunting for the funniest item (that had to cost $5) that we could find for the family competition! Jolynn's squirt gun wins hands down!

4. Mama's cafe, great breakfast!

5. Spending the next week attempting to get the songs out of my head from Beach Blanket Babylon.

A list of 5 things is not enough, we had tons of great foods, lots of laughter, and overdue family time! We had a great time in San Franciso with the whole group and we even got to go and see David's old office and apartment complex from when he lived out there.

Next Stop... Las Vegas!

I should be doing homework...

I waste so much time on pointless less then productive activities. I have been home for hours and the only accomplishment I have to show for my time is that I cooked dinner. But I have caught up on my t.v. shows. I have watch the food network, the biggest loser, 18 kids and counting, and dancing with the stars.
Fall break starts on Thursday, so I am going to start a new goal when school starts again on Monday. So for one week I am going to study at school for one hour before I allow myself to watch any t.v., maybe that will start a healthy habit of self control when it comes to time management! With that said I will enjoy my next few days of television freedom before Monday rolls around.
I do have a great example of being a wonderful student, as I sit in the living room doing alternate activities David is in his office working away on homework! Maybe more of his wonderful study habits will rub off on me in time! Until then after watching the Biggest Loser I do want to go for a run... maybe I will start that on Monday as well.

I decided to start a blog...

I am often at work searching facebook and googling who knows what! So I decided that I would start a blog. I never keep journals or write down things that happen so I hope that this is the start to a history of the life of David and Dacia.

now where to begin...

Things we are looking forward to...

1. California this weekend!

My last trip to the Bay Area was at least a year and a half ago! Far to long!

2. Dave's Birthday

We shall celebrate in Vegas

3. My Parents are coming to Utah for Thanksgiving

Trans S. Orchestra and Cracker Barrell will be wonderful

4. David's graduating from UVU

5. David's mom is coming to visit for Christmas!

It is overdue to see her too!

I haven't told David about the blog... we will see what his reaction to this is!

May each day be better then the next!
